The Municipality of Yarmouth sends property tax bills to all property owners once a year. Tax bills are sent out June 1 and are due on or before June 30 of the same year. Business occupancy bills are forwarded to business operators using the same mailing and due date schedule. The tax calculation is based on the assessed value of the property multiplied by the applicable tax rate. The assessed value is the market value of the property at the base rate as determined by Property Valuation Services Corporation phone 1-800-380-7775, a department of the Nova Scotia Government. Tax Rates Residential - $1.15 / $100.00 of assessment. Commercial - $2.15 / $100.00 of assessment. The only additional tax added to the above rate is the Fire Department tax. The fire rates vary depending on where you live. Fire Rates
