“Theatre Extravaganza!” Summer Theatre Camp at Th’YARC For Students age 10-16 July 26 – August 6, 2010 Monday –Friday 9 am-4:30 pm It’s summertime at Th’YARC – and this year’s summer theatre program offers an exciting mix of acting, singing, and movement that you don’t want to miss. Take your acting skills to the next level as you explore a world of improv and collective creation. This is a chance to express your ideas, feelings, and talents, and work with your fellow actors to create a brand new play. We’ll get your bodies moving with hip-hop and musical theatre dance, as well as studying the physical craft of acting and creative movement. And we’ll get you singing, too! Through this two-week program you’ll get a crash course in vocal expression for musical theatre, learning how to dynamically use your vocal talents to “act the song!” Professional theatre instructors will spend two weeks helping you to tap into your talent – and then we will show it off to a live audience on Th’YARC stage. Our final presentation will be a showcase of your hard work which will show your friends and family just how ready for the spotlight you are! Whether you’re a seasoned young actor, or you’ve been waiting in the wings for the right time to take the stage, this two-week program will take you further into the wonderful world of theatre, and show you that here are no limits to what you can achieve.
