COVID-19 demonstrated its power to deeply impact our health, social and financial well-being. The Municipality of the District of Yarmouth (MODY) is grateful to the businesses and workers who are on the front lines ensuring access to health care, keeping the food supply chain moving and keeping us safe. Thank you! We practiced #StayHome, we #flattenthecurve and we obeyed the Public Health and Provincial orders. Now we can reap the benefits!

The team at MODY have created a return to work and re-opening plan that keeps everyone safe and ensures continued delivery of municipal services. Tax bills were mailed on June 4, 2020 and are due July 31, 2020. The office will be open to the public, with certain operating procedures in place on June 15, 2020. After June 15, and until further notice, with the exception of paying tax bills, public access to the administration building is by appointment only. To make appointments, contact the following numbers:

Tax Arrear Payments – Linda Power 902-742-7159
Development Office & Public Works – Jenny Porter 902-742-9691
Recreation Office – Gail Muise 902-742-8868
All other inquiries – Linda Power 902-742-7159

As the weeks unfold, and we test the waters of this economic re-opening, we are committed, under the direction of the Prime Minister, Premier McNeil, Dr. Tam and Dr. Strang, to keeping services available without interruption. We are pleased to be able to offer some of our signature services like Yarmouth Recreation Programming (go to for up-to-date details), Cape Forchu & Leif Erikson Trail, trails and community parks. Please continue to do your part in bringing the effects of this virus to an end by practicing social distancing and frequent hand washing. Together we can #conquercovid
